SRX8

The engine is made by Rody Rome. The engine is a OEM of OS engine.  Not only name emblem but also crankshaft are modified by Rody. There is not counter weight. Big end is coated by DLC. It likes as TP engine. It was Techno Power long ago.  Crank was made with another material too. DLC is a plating operation. Plating operation needs heat treatments. Heat treatments of plating makes crankshaft softer and flexible. Flex crankshaft takes long time to maximum. Then he coated DLC on big end only. DLC effects on surface only. Crankshaft operated heat treatment without DLC. A Japanese engine tuner say same things about DLC. He recommended non heat treatments like a WPC. And I want to say about counter weight. Squere bore engine is difficult to drive for keeping high rotation. For that we should change large super gear. Or only change trquefull engine. In summer low profile cooling head make over heat. Some drivers change normal head instead of low profile. New engines list order by long stroke desc. In public long stroke has more torque. I got video SRX8 running on the truck. I changed engine to Triton L4. It has more torque. Then I can drive easily on 5 jumps. https://youtu.be/bYq5fJN5U7I Setup sheet is updated. I think serpent diff can use softer oil than other brand. Probably it comes from gear pitch. And I used shock oil stiffer than front. I adjusted dumper effect by piston holes. It makes rear stable on bumpy sections.

I have a wander why toe in of rear suspension is set on root side. It like as semi trailing arm. Three digrees toe in make valuable wheel base. I think it should be set on hub carrier or end of suspension arm. Do you think about?

LFR is in Florida US. I want to play buggy on Florida truck someday. Warmly climate,blue sky,Florida is paradise except hurricane. LFR has two types body for SRX8. LFR invent long cabin body at first. Other brand developed long cabin body too. This is tactic body. Front window spread is large. Rear down force is small. Probably it’s handling is well. I haven’t used the body. I order one. It’s assasin body. I had used on DNX8. The body front window is small. And it has side dam. Straightness is well on high windy day.

I run SRX8 with B2012 engine on our truck. Expert says black head makes over heat on summer. Silver head version is good. It can cool down more than black. Or you should change normal head. I want more torque on five jump on backend. Another section the engine make good truction. Next run I use Picco with os carburetor. Os carburetor make stable idling. Triton is almost same as Picco. It has torque and long mileage. It’s new Picco. It has silver head and new carburetor. Bore 16.03 Stroke 17.30 It’s new OS. Bore 16.4 Stroke 16.55 Square stroke engine becomes little long stroke. I want to try it.

I added throttle rod. On breaking servo is moved with plastic plate. Added Simms on diff mount side. On full breaking it makes stable rear tire.

Swirl tape is a body protecting tape. Skeleton tape can paste outside. Flexible material can paste rounded area. I can use one body for a season.

Now diff bevel gears material is close up. Magen has released new mbx. It has high traction diff. Bevel gear material is precious steel. Japanese MP9 users change bevel gear to optima steel gear. And light weight shaft too. It has precious back rushing and heavy gears make high truction. Soft diff oil is used but it has power of going forward.

Aluminum CVD was broken on FR. RR is kinked at pin. I set steel CVD back old SRX8. Another trouble front C hub hinge bite dust,it makes not to move suspension arm lightly. It needs little space between C hub and lower suspension arm.   

I went to truck yesterday. I started default settings. I can’t accelerate at out of corner for spin. I tried short suspension arm mode at first. It makes rear feeling lighten. And I changed rear camber link to adjust tail slide.  Nest step, I felt not balanced in and out handling. At in of corner handlings was insensible. At out of corner handling was sensitive. Then I change front hub +2mm and rear hub +1mm. And also changed Wheel base +3.75mm. Diff oil are set 5k,5k,3k with associated oil. SRX diff can go forward though using soft oil. I checked Ackerman. I like rear ended hole. I can’t test about shock oil and spring yet. But SRX8 run well with the setup sheet. Especially v2 rear hub career make so good handling.
