I opened the box of new picco engine. I sent to next in last month. Head screw hole was maid dull equipment. Then next repaired holes. Chamber is same as triton. I set two gaskets for high nitro fuel. Picco has 6.5mm reducer. It's best size. Triton has 7mm,6mm.  Crank case was tuned a bit shaved. Crankshaft and connection rod operated by MOS. This picture is fioroni crutch system. Probably Reds crutch is OEM as this. Then Fioroni new crutch is better than REDS. Evo4 crutch is on sale. I want to buy the crutch next order.

I've got a new Picco engine. It is Picco boost 5TB 2016. I sent the engine to tuning shop Next. It takes a month to tuning the engine. Because it has issue. I feel little tight to insert screw. Next said Picco use not sharpen tap for the hole. It can't be shaved spiral deeply. If not repaired cylinder deformed. Connection lod and piston pin and crankshaft are operated WPC. It's important QC.

OS engine unveil new 21 XZ-B spec 3. It's different from B2101 at bore stroke. Bore is 16.27mm. Stroke is 16.8mm. OS and Nova piston rub sleeve at piston top. Then big bore piston is more expanded by thermal. It make difficult for break in. And a lot stress damage to connection rod more than small piston. I saw several times OS connection rod breaking on B2101. The spec 3 is long stroke. It's easy for break in and easy drive for middle class driver.

Model manual almost same as Toriton. Bore stroke is same. But hp and rpm are different. Triton has more torque and rpm. I doubt triton spec. There's not as such tuning method. At least five port Picco has more torque. Picco has ten fins. Picco has more one fin than triton. Clank case has squared fins. It has more strength. It likes as Reds. And front bearing housing like as triton. This is triton clank case. It has round type fin. Crankshaft is almost same as Triton. It has two counter weight. This photo is triton. Picco improved cooling head and clank case. Cooling head near chamber work well in summer. We can lean more.

I like Picco engine. Reason why do I like? Picco piston touch sleeve at under the piston top. It avoid thermal expansion. I order new Picco engine 5TB 2016. It likes Triton. I've already had 7port Triton. In high gripe truck I want more power. Then I buy 5port. Picco OEM brand Reds improved carburetor reducer. It's higher than other. It has long neck. And it has offset intake hole. It aim like as duo reducer. It provide fast air flow on low throttle.

Today I went to truck for setuping next Sunday race.   First I tune engine. I introduce needle setting method.   ① Main needle After warm up. On the bench trigger throttle max, after while engine sound changing high tone. The sound is coming from Fuel is not much  provided.   If sound not be changing main needle should tune clockwise.   Depends on your truck straight length. You should adjust after how long after while by main needle. You don't continue trigger throttle after sound changing.   If the truck has long straight takes 5 seconds on maximam,main needle should tune unclockwise. Until it takes 5 seconds to change sound.     ②Secoundary needle After max sound changing you shoud operate full braking. Engine rotation will be down changing two steps. Max->High idling->Low idling.   It is coming from secondary needle provide much fuel. Then should tune...

Werks announce new engine b7. It is made by Star motor. Do you know Sirio brand? Sirio is first brand to put in counter weight on crank shaft. Now I don't know where they gone. They couldn't become major player. The engine has seven ports intake. Bore is not announced yet. Probably it is like square bore. I had used Sirio. It's easy to break in and easy to consume.

Daniel Ielasi is a expert driver on road. He found engine brand Ielasi tuned. He developed buggy engine. It's manufactured by nova.  Square stroke and four ports. Same as ultimate M4R. But cooling head is different. Ultimate cooling head is low height. Square bore engine become big bore and short stroke. Then Crank become small. Crank receive less stress. But piston become heavy and get more friction. Piston and sleeve material is most important. Probably Nova doesn't find best material yet. Then Nove never unveil square bore engine from their own brand. Nova has most large amount of knowledge of material, but yet. And thermal expansion becomes more big. Then both brands try another shape of cooling head.

It is rainy and windy day in Japan. It is called first spring wind. Tomorrow race has canceled. I built new REDS clutch. Carbon and aluminum shoe are set half and half. And easy build shoe. Upper plate has spring receive mount. I set upper plate and turn to low position. So the clutch upper plate has each two holes. This is a REDS bell. It has cooling fan. Bell is most hight rotation. Then bearing receive stress. If bearing was broken not only bell but also engine bearing is broken. Then I use bearing grease. I paste among bearing. If do so I should use cooling fun type bell. So grease don't go into shoe. I replace bearing each running a day. I  maintain clutch bearing with this tool. Bearing is set into the tool and blow out old grease with parts cleaner. And push into new grease.

Triton engine is on sale duo Venturi.  It make low band air flow stable. On half throttle the Venturi intake half airflow. It can use more big diameter. Japanese RC shop had sold same Venturi few years ago. I used 8mm diameter Venturi on OS engine. But it's not good for me. Felling change suddenly and high speed needle should make rich. Then mileage getting worse . Now I return to normal 6.5mm diameter.

Triton L4 is made by Lance Heidmann. He had cooperated to design and develop with Picco. Then the engine is similar as Picco. Left side is a Triton. Right side is a REDS. Low and taper shape is a advantage. Carburato is a weak point of Picco. Then REDS developed side needle carburetor. But manufacture is same as other Picco. So I change to OS carburetor. It gives stable low idling and high response. PC is same as REDS. But crank shaft is same as PICCO racing. Toriton select more effective parts than others. It has cost performance. I like it.

It has 17℃ today in Japan. Over 15℃ I can break in. I prepared some items. It's a tire inner foam. It's used for protecting over cool. It makes sleeve to keep thermal expansion . It's pre heater. It heat only sleeve. That makes clearance between sleeve and piston. It Kyosho thermometer. It can measure the temperature on plag top. I use to be heat head to 50℃ before fire. I set head a tire foam. I breake in on parking lot. I make oval course to take 10 seconds a round. Almost I use full throttle. It is very important to provide oil on PC. Then I can understand easily how long I have driven. First step I drive three minutes to keep 100 ℃. I tune idling screw not to stop idling. And adjust only high speed needle to keep temperature. Then I cool down engine 20℃. I continue the work five times. Second step. Then I put off tire foam. Heat head to 50℃. Adjust high speed needle to Keep 110℃. Five minutes dri...

This is a REDS engine's sleeve. It has seven ports intake and three ports exhaust. Toriton sleeve is same as REDS. Next made groove under the main scavenging port. Side sub port are added guide groove. Outside of sleeve was processed horning operation. Next added guide for scavenging on engine block over rear bearing. And same on side of exhaust port. Next processed sleeve top make vertical. Crank are modified Eccentricity . Next scraped crank over counter weight. Relative make heavy outside of crank . OS cabirater neck are scraped. Then it fit for Picco engine block.
