Pipe selection

Nowadays almost buggy engine manufacturers recommend short manifold.

Probably it comes from space matters.

There is no space between exhauste port to body end.

It has not large effect for engine character.

But pipe has large effect for character.

This is structure of pipe.
 It has two pieces.


Pipe has two length.

TL concerns with RPM.

TL is only pipe.

L include manifold length.

Short TL make high RPM.

But L is decided from exhaust timing.

Exhaust timing is from mouth of crankshaft design.

Generally Long L has pick up.

We should use manufacture recommended pipe and manifold.

Because we don’t know exhaust timing.
